LONDON (ICIS)--The Shaw Group has been awarded a contract to provide basic engineering services for the expansion of Qatar Petrochemical Co’s (QAPCO) 720,000 tonne/year ethylene (C2) plant in Mesaieed, Qatar, the US engineering group said on Monday.
State-owned QAPCO aims to expand the plant's capacity by up to 25%, Shaw added.
Financial details were not disclosed.
"Our long relationship and experience puts Shaw in a unique position to best serve QAPCO in this new expansion endeavour," said Lou Pucher, president of Shaw's Energy & Chemicals Group.
Currently, Shaw is providing proprietary technology and basic engineering for GAIL’s 450,000 tonne/year ethylene plant at Pata, in ?xml:namespace>
