S Korea’s Kumho ramps up op rate of new BR plant to 70%

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Kumho Petrochemical Co (KKPC) has ramped up the operating rate of its new 120,000 tonne/year butadiene rubber (BR) plant at Yeosu to around 70%, industry sources said on Tuesday.

The company plans to start commercial production by the end of February, they added.

KKPC is Asia’s largest synthetic rubber producer. It also runs a 222,000 tonne/year BR plant at the same location in Yeosu.
