HOUSTON (ICIS)--Enterprise Products issued a force majeure (FM) on deliveries and receipts of natural gas liquids (NGLs) for storage in its underground salt domes as a result of the fire at its western storage a week ago, Enterprise customers said.
Customers received written notice during the weekend from Duncan Energy Partners, owner of Enterprise Partners, explaining that the Mont Belvieu facility would only be able to accept and deliver limited amounts of product.
One customer described the notice as broad and unspecific, with most of the market unclear as to the effects.
Enterprise did not respond immediately to a request for comment.
The FM boosted prices for propane, normal butane and isobutane. Propane increased 5–10 cents/gal since 11 February, while normal butane went up 6–7 cents/gal and isobutane surged about 15 cents/gal during that time.
