SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Saudi Ethylene and Polyethylene Company (SEPC) plans to shut its 400,000 tonne/year high density polyethylene (HDPE) plant in ?xml:namespace>
“The plant will be shut for just a week,” the source said, dispelling earlier reports of a February turnaround that would last three weeks.
SEPC’s 400,000 tonne/year low density PE (LDPE) plant at the same site was not included in the March maintenance schedule, the source said.
The turnaround would tighten HDPE supply in the
SEPC is a joint venture involving National Industrialisation Co (Tasnee), which owns a 50.6% stake, Sahara Olefins Co with a 24.4% interest, and LyondellBasell, which holds the remaining 25% of the company.
