SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan's Nippon Seiro will shut its 90,000 tonne/year petroleum wax unit at Tokuyama in Yamaguchi province in early May for a one-month annual maintanence, a company official said on Monday.
Nippon Seiro's wax capacity refers to its total production of paraffin, microcrystalline and other types of specialty waxes.
Paraffin wax prices in the key China market were hovering at around $1,600/tonne (€1,168/tonne) FOB (free on board) China last week for the benchmark fully-refined grade of melting point 58/60°C (136/140°F), according to ICIS pricing.
Other regional producers of paraffin wax include PetroChina and Taiwan Wax Co.
