TORONTO (ICIS)--Saudi Industrial Investment Group (SIIG) and Arabian Chevron Phillips Petrochemical are planning a polyamide 6,6 and several polymer conversion projects, US petrochemicals engineering firm Jacobs said on Tuesday.

Jacobs, which has won a contract for the projects’ engineering services, said the facilities would be located at Al-Jubail in eastern Saudi Arabia.

The polyamide 6,6 plant was expected to be built using state-of-the-art technology, Jacobs said.

The polymer conversion projects would include capacities for high-performance polyethylene (PE) pipe, irrigation products, medical disposables, complex caps and closures, pharmaceutical packaging products, polyamide 6,6 compounding, electrical fittings and automotive parts, Jacobs said.

It did not disclose financial, capacity or start-up details.

SIIG is a Saudi joint stock company. Arabian Chevron Phillips Petrochemical is a wholly-owned subsidiary of US-based petrochemicals major Chevron Phillips Chemical (CPChem).
