HOUSTON (ICIS)--INEOS NOVA confirmed on Friday that it will take down its 770,000 tonne/year styrene plant in Bayport, Texas, during May and June for scheduled maintenance.
The specific dates of the downtime were not disclosed.
The INEOS NOVA announcement comes just as Americas Styrenics is winding down maintenance at its combined 950,000 tonne/year St James styrene complex in Louisiana.
Styrene monomer spot prices on Friday were at 67.75-68.25 cents/lb ($1,494-1,505/tonne, €1,076-1,084/tonne) FOB (free on board), up from 67.25-67.75 cents/lb FOB on 1 February.
