HOUSTON (ICIS)--Fourth-quarter paraxylene (PX) inventories fell 2.5% from the same quarter in 2009, according to data released on Friday by the National Petrochemical & Refiners Association (NPRA).
PX inventories for the fourth-quarter dropped to 419.8m lbs (190,422 tonnes) from 430.6m lbs in the fourth quarter of 2009.
Third-quarter inventories totalled 559.3m lbs.
Production data for the fourth quarter was not available.
DuPont, Eastman Chemical and INVISTA provided inventory numbers for the NPRA survey. BP, Chevron Phillips Chemical and ExxonMobil Chemical provided both inventory and production numbers for the quarter.
