HOUSTON (ICIS)--Valero said on Monday that unplanned maintenance at its Corpus Christi refinery in Texas had no material effect on production, but market sources said any impact would depend on the duration of the outage.
Valero said in a report to state regulators on Friday that it had begun unplanned maintenance on a hydro-desulphurisation unit at its Corpus Christi refinery.
A restart time was not provided.
Valero spokesman Bill Day said there has been no material impact to production; however, he would not comment on whether the unit was back online.
However, traders on Monday said they were unsure of the impact on the market and said it would depend on the duration of the unit’s outage. For the latest chemical news, data and analysis that directly impacts your business sign up for a free trial to ICIS news - the breaking online news service for the global chemical industry.
