TORONTO (ICIS)--K+S has appointed Richard Wilson as CEO of its Canadian affiliate Potash One, the Germany-based fertilizer major said on Tuesday.

K+S plans to develop Potash One's greenfield potash project in the Saskatchewan province into a mine with a potential capacity of 2.7m tonnes/year.

Wilson will succeed Alexa Hergenrother. Hergenrother, who is K+S’s head of corporate development, led Potash One on an interim basis following K+S’ acquisition of the company earlier this year.

Wilson, formerly vice president of manufacturing at Morton Salt, had experience in solution mining and processing, Kassel-based K+S said. K+S acquired Morton from Dow Chemical in 2009.
