HOUSTON (ICIS)--Luiz de Mendonca was named chief executive of Braskem America, the company said on Tuesday.
Mendonca replaces Carlos Fadigas, who was appointed chief executive of Braskem.
In addition to overseeing Braskem America, Mendonca will also lead Braskem's international projects, including those in Mexico, Venezuela and Peru.
Mendonca will also oversee Braskem's renewable chemicals business.
Previously, Mendonca was the chief executive of Quattor after Braskem acquired it in 2010. Before, Mendonca was vice president of Braskem's polymers unit and vice president of basic petrochemicals.
Braskem America was created after Braskem acquired the polypropylene (PP) business from Sunoco for $350m (€252m)
