LONDON (ICIS)--Qatar Fertilizer Co (QAFCO) will start a scheduled shutdown at its No 2 ammonia/urea plant at Mesaieed on 5 March, a company official said on Wednesday.
The maintenance work is due to last three weeks, with production at the unit due to resume on 27 March, he added.
QAFCO had previously said it expected around 500 tonnes/day of ammonia for export would be lost during the shutdown.
The supplier is swapping cargoes with other producers in the Middle East this month in order to carry out commitments, the source said.
QAFCO’s No 2 plant has a nameplate capacity of 900 tonnes/day of ammonia and 1,000 tonnes/day of urea.
