BRUSSELS (ICIS)--A second European March styrene barge contract has been agreed at €1,298/tonne ($1,803/tonne), up €31/tonne from February, the buyer and seller involved said on Thursday.
Despite a price rollover in the upstream March benzene contract, the €60/tonne increase in this month’s ethylene contract price and volatility in crude and energy futures kept upward pressure on the styrene market.
The second styrene barge contract price was agreed on a free delivered (FD) northwest Europe (NWE) basis.
($1 = €0.72)
