South Korea’s Taekwang Industrial restarts Ulsan ACN plant

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Taekwang Industrial has restarted its 250,000 tonne/year acrylonitrile (ACN) plant in Ulsan on 5 March following a three-week scheduled maintenance turnaround, a company source said on Monday.

“We started it up on Saturday following the annual shutdown and it is running at close to full capacity,” the source said.

ACN spot prices were assessed at $2,650–2,700/tonne (€1,908–1,944/tonne) CFR (cost & freight) northeast (NE) Asia in the week ended 4 March January, up $250/tonne from early February, according to ICIS data.
