NEW DELHI (ICIS)--India’s Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilisers Company (GNFC) will complete the expansion of its toluene di-isocyanate (TDI) plant at Dahej in the first quarter of 2012, a company source said on Wednesday at the PU Tech India conference.

GNFC would add 50,000 tonnes/year to its existing nameplate capacity of 15,000 tonnes/year of TDI.

“After the expansion, the extra TDI [volume] we produce will be absorbed by the market as by then, the demand will have grown to absorb the surplus,” the source added.

GNFC is the sole TDI producer in India.

The PU Tech India conference runs from 9 to 11 March.
