US January MDI exports rise by 53% year on year

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US methyl di-p-phenylene isocyanate (MDI) exports for January were up by 53% from 2010, according to data released by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Thursday.

January MDI exports rose to 1,207 tonnes from 788 tonnes in 2010.

Exports rose last year as a result of firm demand from Brazil, market sources said.

January MDI exports rose by 51% from 799 tonnes in December 2010.

The biggest importers of US MDI were Brazil, Mexico and China.
