SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korean producer Yeochun NCC (YNCC) ramped up production at its 857,000 tonne/year No 1 cracker in Yeosu to near-full capacity this week following an outage last month, said a company source on Friday.
Production was capped at 40% last week after the facility restarted on 27 February, due to technical issues at six of its 12 furnaces. A power failure shut the cracker down on 22 February.
A planned turnaround at the No 1 cracker will still take place as scheduled from 5 April to 4 May.
YNCC also operates a 578,000 tonne/year No 2 cracker and a 465,000 tonne/year No 3 cracker in Yeosu. The two other crackers are running at close to 100%, the company source said.
