SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Mitsubishi Chemical Corp (MCC) has shut down its phenol/acetone plant in Kashima following the major earthquake which hit the country on 11 March, a source close to the company said on Monday.
It was not known when the plant might be able to resume operations, he added.
The plant has a capacity of 250,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 150,000 tonnes/year of acetone.
