SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan's Nippon Seiro is running its 90,000 tonne/year petroleum wax unit at Tokuyama in Yamaguchi province at normal rates, unscathed from the earthquake as the plant is located far from the epicentre, a company official said on Monday.
However deliveries of wax within Japan were difficult as the firm was facing transportation problems in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami, he added.
The company source declined to reveal the company’s wax sales to the local market.
Nippon Seiro's wax capacity refers to its total production of paraffin, microcrystalline and other types of specialty waxes.
Other regional producers of paraffin wax include PetroChina and Taiwan Wax Co.
