US ethanol stocks, daily production up slightly - EIA

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US fuel ethanol inventories were slightly up in the second week of March along with a small increase in daily production, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday.

Ethanol stocks stood at 19.90m bbl in the week ended 11 March, up by 0.2% from 19.87m a week earlier, the EIA said.

At the end of last week, US production of the biofuel rose by 1.4% compared with the week ended 4 March to 895,000 bbl/day, according to EIA data.

US ethanol production in February averaged around 891,000 bbd/day, down by 1.9% from an average 908,000 bbl/day in January.
