HOUSTON (ICIS)--Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle makers are looking for alternative supplies of resin after Mossi & Ghisolfi (M&G) declared force majeure at its plant in ?xml:namespace>
M&G Polimeros Brasil declared force majeure (FM) on March 16.
Problems at the M&G plant in Suape, Pernambuco, developed following the long-lasting blackout of early February, affecting the majority of states in
Initially, the disruptions at the plant were stabilised and it continued to operate.
However, strong fluctuations in the polymerisation system developed later, eventually leading M&G to stop plant operations, according to the company. This should last 10-20 days.
