SHANGHAI (ICIS)--China’s Sichuan Meifeng Chemical Industry plans to build a 100,000 tonne/year ammonia plant and a 180,000 tonne/year urea plant in Xinjiang in the country’s northwest, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
Construction of the plants will begin at the end of March and be completed in the second half of 2012, the company said.
Sichuan Meifeng will invest yuan (CNY) 500m ($76m) at the two fertilizer plants, according to the statement.
The company is based in Deyang in Sichuan province in the southwest of the country.
