SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Formosa Petrochemical shut down its 520,000 tonne/year Group II base oils refinery at Mailiao, Taiwan, on 17 March for three days because of a technical problem, a company source said on Wednesday.
The facility is now running normally, he said.
The production loss, which was estimated to be around 9,000 tonnes, has had no impact on the refiner’s exports to term customers in April. But the refiner will have no spot availability next month, the source added.
Formosa Petrochemical exports around 45,000 tonnes of base oils per month on a term basis.
