Kuwait’s PIC to restart Shuaiba PP unit on 8 May

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Kuwait's Petrochemical Industries Co (PIC) plans to restart its Shuaiba-based polypropylene (PP) plant on 8 May, a source close to the company said on Thursday.

The 150,000 tonne/year PP unit was shut on 10 March for maintenance, the source added.

“We will not have any quantities to sell for April and we will only know whether we would have any May cargoes to offer by the end of April,” he said.

PIC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corp (KPC).
