SINGAPORE (ICIS)--JX Nippon Oil & Energy has delayed the restart of its 460,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker in Kawasaki to 31 March amid ongoing repairs, a company official said on Friday.

The plant was taken off line following the 11 March earthquake and was originally scheduled to restart around 27 March.

“There is still some plant trouble and we don’t know if there might be further delays, it depends on the situation,” he said, without elaborating.

The official denied market talk that the cracker could only be restarted around 6 to 10 April.
