SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Petrochemical Corp (FPCC) had a fire at its 1.03m tonne/year No 2 naphtha cracker in Mailiao at 10:00 hours local time (02:00 hours GMT), a trader said on Tuesday.

“The Taiwanese government may have recommended them to shut down because it has happened so many times,” a trader said.

No further details were immediately available and Formosa officials could not be reached for comment.
