HOUSTON (ICIS)--Ecopetrol, the sole polyethylene (PE) producer in Colombia, left prices unchanged in April for all grades of low-density PE (LDPE) and its sub-products, the company announced on Friday.

Colombia adjusts prices every month, taking in consideration PE prices in the international market along with currency fluctuations.

The price of LDPE in bulk was listed at Colombian pesos (Ps) 4,229.53/kg ($2,261/tonne, €1,583/tonne), while bagged material at the distribution centre was Ps4,475/kg.

Ecopetrol produces only LDPE. Other grades sold in the country are imported from various regions.

($1 = €0.70 = Ps1,871)
