HOUSTON (ICIS)--Iran’s Jam Petrochemical said on Tuesday its force majeure (FM) on ethylene remained in place, but the company said it planned to restart its Assaluyeh cracker on 12-14 April.

The 1.32m tonne/year unit was shut down on 24 March, the company said, citing an unforeseen failure and damage to the seawater pipeline cooling system.

Butadiene (BD), polyethylene (PE) and propylene also remained under FM, Jam Petrochemical said.

The company has 300,000 tonnes/year of propylene capacity. Jam’s BD capacity is 115,000 tonnes/year and PE capacity is 600,000 tonnes/year.
