HOUSTON (ICIS)--US imports of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) copolymer rose by 25% year on year, the International Trade Commission (ITC) said on Tuesday.

US imports in February 2011 were 11,213 tonnes, up from 8,970 in February 2010.

ABS imports also increased month on month, up from 7,320 in January 2011, an increase of 53%.

US imports were bolstered by dropping ABS prices in Asia.

US exports dropped year on year by 4.9% to 7,986 tonnes in February 2011 from 8,397 tonnes in February 2010.

However, US ABS exports increased by 13.6% month on month, from 7,030 tonnes in January 2011.
