Rhodia completes acquisition of PI Industries' plastics business

LONDON (ICIS)--Rhodia has completed the acquisition of PI Industries' engineering-plastics business in India after receiving approval from the country’s authorities, the France-based polymer producer said on Wednesday.

The acquisition of PI Industries is a major step in realising Rhodia's growth ambitions for engineering plastics in India, it said.

Rhodia said its goal is to double its local production capacities to represent 15% of India's polyamide-compound market by 2015.

The acquisition includes one industrial facility based in Panoli, in India's Gujarat state, and research and development (R&D) capabilities.
