SHANGHAI (ICIS)--China’s Shanxi Jinfeng Coal Chemical plans to start building a 100,000 tonne/year melamine plant and one 300,000 tonne/year urea plant in the middle of the year, a company source said on Friday.

A coal-to-natural gas facility with a capacity of 500m³/year is also slated to be built.

The melamine plant will be located at Gaoping city in Shanxi province and is expected to be started up in early 2012, while the urea plant, to be located in Henan province, is expected to be started up in the middle of 2013, said the source.

Shanxi Jinfeng Coal Chemical will invest yuan (CNY) 3bn ($459m) in the construction of all three units, the source added.
