SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Petrochemical Corp (FPCC) will shut its 520,000 tonne/year Group II base oils refinery at Mailiao for about a week in the second half of May, a company source said on Monday.
The plant will be taken off line in order to resolve a compressor issue, he said.
This shutdown will not affect its May exports, which are stable at around 45,000 tonnes, the source said. Its shipments in June, however, will depend on the progress of the repair work, he added.
Formosa’s base oils plant was shut for three days last month because of a technical problem.
