Iran’s Jam Petrochemical restarts cracker after outage

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Iran’s Jam Petrochemical restarted its 1.32m tonne/year cracker in Asaluyeh last week following an outage, said a source close to the company on Monday.

He declined to provide the specific restart date.

Jam’s cracker was slated to resume operations on 12-14 April after it was taken off line on 24 March, when its seawater pipeline cooling system failed.

A company official had earlier said that a force majeure (FM) on ethylene and butadiene supply will remain in place at least until the end of April.

Jam’s cracker can produce 300,000 tonnes/year of propylene and around 115,000 tonnes/year of butadiene. The company’s polyethylene capacity is 600,000 tonnes/year.
