US INEOS reports emissions, upset at Texas cracker

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US INEOS on Tuesday reported emissions from its 907,000 tonne/year Olefins 1 cracker at Chocolate Bayou in Texas, citing a process upset at the site.

The company was stabilising the unit’s operations to bring ethylene product back on-spec and decreased feed to the furnaces, INEOS said in a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

When contacted, a company spokesperson said INEOS does not comment on its operations.

The company has a second cracker in Chocolate Bayou called Olefins 2 with a capacity of 885,000 tonne/year.
