SHANGHAI (ICIS)--BASF announced on Wednesday that it has appointed Andy Postlethwaite as senior vice president in the engineering plastics division for Asia Pacific with effect from 1 April, based in Singapore.

He is succeeding Hermann Althoff, who returned to BASF’s headquarters at Ludwigshafen in Germany to take over the senior vice president position for polyamide and intermediates, BASF said.

Postlethwaite began his career with BASF in New Zealand in 1986 and has held several key management roles in Singapore, Malaysia and China.

Most recently, he was heading BASF’s nutrition and health business in Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong.

He holds a masters degree in business administration from the University of New England in Australia.
