SHANGHAI (ICIS)--Bridgestone (Huizhou) Synthetic Rubber plans to shut down its 50,000 tonne/year styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) plant at Huizhou in the south of China, a company source said on Wednesday.

The plant will be shut down for one month in May as part of the company’s regular maintenance, the company source said.

The shutdown will not have any impact on the market as the company uses the plant’s output for its own tyre production, the source added.

Bridgestone, which is headquartered in Japan, is a worldwide tyre manufacturer.

Other key tyre makers in Asia include Goodyear, Toyo Tires, Continental Tyres and Michelin.
