SK Energy to build MLLDPE/elastomer swing plant in Ulsan

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s SK Energy is planning to build a 150,000 tonne/year swing plant in Ulsan to produce elastomers and C8 metallocene linear low density polyethylene (MLLDPE), a company source said on Tuesday.

“Commercial production is likely to begin by the end of 2012 or in early 2013,” the source said.

The plant will apply SK Energy's proprietary technology to produce C8 MLLDPE targeted at the agricultural and stretch film application markets, he said.
