MOSCOW (ICIS)--Uzkimesanoat has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to build new methanol and dimethyl ether (DME) units, the Uzbek state-run chemical holding company said on Tuesday.
Uzkimesanoat signed the MoU with state-run oil and gas company Uzbekneftegaz and ?xml:namespace>
The new units would produce 200,000 tonnes/year of methanol and 100,000 tonnes/year of DME, the statement said.
The methanol and DME facilities would be built at the premises of fertilizer producer Ferganaazot, located in the Fergana Valley, Uzkimesanoat added.
The company did not disclose any financial details or completion dates for the planned units.
Uzkimesanoat previously announced 30 projects worth about $300m (€207m) to modernise its production facilities.
