SAO PAULO (ICIS)--Fernando Figueiredo has been named new executive president of Brazil’s Chemical Industry Association (Abiquim), effective on 2 May, the trade group said on Wednesday.
He will be succeeding Eduardo Bernini, Abiquim added.
At Abiquim, Figueiredo has been a member of the economy board and has coordinated the law, legislative and communication boards among others.
Most recently, Figueiredo was vice president of BASF for South America, heading the plastics, polyurethane, industrial chemicals, communication, taxes and insurance areas. He left in December.
Figueiredo holds a law degree from the University of Sao Paulo and is a member of the Competition and Technology Council of the Sao Paulo state Industry Federation.
