Ferro to resume building smelters at Egypt tile-coating plant

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US special chemical producer Ferro has resumed construction of additional smelters at its new tile-coatings plant in Egypt.
Ferro plans to bring three new smelters on line by the beginning of the third quarter, said James Kirsch, president and chief executive officer.
"Demand in the Egyptian market continues to grow nicely," Kirsch said, adding that regional demand will allow Ferro to run its Egyptian plant at or near capacity.
