SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Samsung Total Petrochemicals shut its naphtha cracker in Daesan for a turnaround last week, a source close to the company said on Monday.

“The cracker was shut on 27 April and will restart 1 June,” the source said.

Samsung Total will be debottlenecking its cracker during the planned shutdown to increase the ethylene nameplate capacity to more than 900,000 tonnes/year from the existing 850,000 tonnes/year.
