SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Thai MMA plans to run its two 90,000 tonne/year methyl methacrylate (MMA) lines at Map Ta Phut at 95% capacity in May and June, a company source said on Friday.

The company currently has feedstock shortage issues with its supplier, said the source, without adding further details.

Thai MMA lost a total of 1,500-1,600 tonnes of MMA in April alone, or around 20% of its monthly production, the source added.

The reduced capacity will result in stricter product allocation to customers, as priority will be given to the company for captive consumption, he added.

Thai MMA is a joint venture between Japan’s Mitsubishi Rayon Co (MRC) and Thailand’s Siam Cement Group (SCG).
