SINGAPORE (ICIS)--PTT Asahi Chemical expects to start commercial production at its new 200,000 tonne/year acrylonitrile (ACN) plant at Map Ta Phut, Thailand, in July, a company source said on Friday.
“We completed the construction of the plant in March and it is now undergoing a three-month commissioning or test trial to check and test all the facilities to ensure that all is in good order before we start commercial production in July,” the source added.
Output from the new plant will serve domestic customers in Thailand and southeast Asia, according to the source.
“We have limited spot [supply] as most of the [plant's] output has been contracted,” the source added.
