Dow launches polyethylene research centre in Brazil

SAO PAULO (ICIS)--Dow Chemical has launched a polyethylene (PE) research centre in Brazil, a company official said on the sidelines of the Brasilplast trade fair and conference on Monday.

“Our centre puts our clients in contact with top-notch technology to develop innovative solutions for their products… which brings us closer to the industry,” said Dow plastics and development leader Jorge Caminero Gomes in Portuguese.

The research centre is being established in the city of Jundiai, Sao Paulo state. Dow did not disclose investment figures.

“The centre works as our market network… customers will remember Dow first if we work with them trying to find solutions for their issues and promote innovations,” Gomes said.

Brasilplast, which runs 9-13 May, is a major fair for the plastics industry in South America. It is organised by Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado.
