LONDON (ICIS)--Tessenderlo’s US-based subsidiary is to build an ammonium thiosulphate (ATS) production plant at its Burley facility in ?xml:namespace>
Tessenderlo did not disclose the production capacity of the new plant, which is expected to start up within the next 18 months.
The company said the expansion is in line with its strategy to step up its investment plans, particularly in the
“[Tessenderlo Kerley] will design and construct the new sulphur-processing plant that will produce ammonium thiosulphate,” said Jordan Burns, CEO of Tessenderlo subsidiary.
“This new plant will enhance [Tessenderlo Kerley's] leading competitive position in the growing US ATS market,” Burns added.
Ammonium thiosulphate is a sulphur-based specialty fertilizer for broad acre crops, such as hay, corn and potatoes, Tessenderlo said.
