HOUSTON (ICIS)--Formosa Plastics is resuming production at its chlor-alkali plant at its Point Comfort, Texas, complex after completing a scheduled turnaround, a market source said on Thursday.
The turnaround began on 2 May, the source said.
Many, if not most, of the units at the complex have completed maintenance, a company spokesman said.
Formosa Plastics’s upcoming expansion project, which will add 25% additional capacity of caustic soda, is on schedule to begin on 1 July, the market source said.
Formosa Plastics’s Point Comfort facility produces olefins, polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and caustic soda.
