SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’sTongsuh Petrochemical has shut down its 300,000 tonne/year acrylonitrile (ACN) plant in Ulsan for maintenance, a company source said on Friday.

“The plant was shut down today [Friday] and will be down for about 25 days for maintenance,” the source added.

Tongsuh had originally planned to shut the plant in early May but delayed its turnaround to the middle of May because of strong demand for ACN.

Tongsuh is a wholly owned subsidiary of Asahi Kasei, a major Japanese ACN producer.
