China to have 2.8m tonnes/year of PTA capacity additions in Q3

SHANGHAI (ICIS)--A total of
Yisheng Dahua is to increase its PTA capacity by 700,000 tonnes/year, Yisheng Petrochemical will raise its by
Yisheng Dahua's and Yisheng Petrochemical’s new capacities will come on stream by July, while Jiangsu Hailun’s will start up in July or August, said Gao.
The new PTA capacity additions are not expected to lead to oversupply in the market, as there will also be capacity additions in the downstream polyester sector during that period to absorb the additional PTA capacity, Gao noted.
