Germany's Messer to build second industrial gases plant in Vietnam

LONDON (ICIS)--Messer Group will build a 1,300 tonne/day air separation plant in Vietnam to supply steel firm Hoa Phat, the Germany-based industrial gases company said on Wednesday.

Messer expects to invest about $26.0m (€18.5m) in the plant at Kinh Mon Town in Vietnam’s northern Hai Duong province. Start-up is expected in July 2012, it said.

The project will be Messer’s second air separation plant in Vietnam, following the start-up of another unit last year.

In addition, Messer is building a plant for liquid carbon dioxide in south Vietnam, it said.
