Fire at China’s Shandong Baoyuan Chemical facility injures two

GUANGZHOU (ICIS)--A fire at China’s Shandong Baoyuan Chemical’s facility at Zibo in Shandong on 28 May has injured two workers, a company source said on Monday.

The fire broke out in a storage tank at 21:30 Beijing time and was brought under control before reinforcements arrived, the source told ICIS news. No deaths were reported.

The source denied reports that the accident had killed three people and injured another eight.

Shandong Baoyuan Chemical produces hydroxylamine hydrochloride, nitromethane, calcium formate and formic acid.
